We are back and slowly, but surely, getting back into our routines. The cold weather is affecting R and I more than usual, probably cos we are both nursing various stages of a cold and the fact that the bed is a much cosier place to snuggle than being out in the cold, open air.
The past two mornings have been a struggle with my little one, who was born in the deep winter here in Shanghai, crying out "its COLD" for the first time in her life. She's always been one to kick off blanket covers and throw her mittens down on the ground as she has always been afraid of the heat, so this sent a real signal to me to keep her extra warm. I don't really blame her as I too feel the cold.
Being away from school for so long (6 weeks) also meant that she has been a little bit clingy during drop off each day. So I've had to hang around a little more to ensure that she's settled in and ok. Thankfully it doesn't take long.
As for myself, I've been trying to catch up on backlog of emails and trying to get my head straight to focus on prioritising my tasks. I need to learn how to turn on and off my "work switch" and learn not to get too emotionally attached to my work. Work/life balance and all that.
