God's Love Prevails

In Memory of Samantha Beatrice Wong

I have been very touched by the testimony of this family. A call for prayer for issued early last week for a little baby girl at a mothering forum that I frequent. Samantha, or Sabie, who is a few weeks older than R, had gone for a heart surgery to replace a valve and complications arose 3 days after the surgery completed.

Many mothers on the thread came forward to pray and intercede on the family's behalf. Mass prayers were held at noon each day to uphold the family, with many of us praying hourly throughout our day. Even Sabie's aunt from Philippines came on the thread to pray for the little one. It was awesome to see God's love eminate from so many mothers, who prayed unceasingly for Sabie and the family.

God took little Sabie home last week and I wept when I heard the news. However, I am greatly encouraged and touched when I read what Sarah, Sabie's mother, shared with the other moms.

Sarah (Patsy) said:

Sabie's mission with us is to bring the love out of people.... she was an angel sent by God to show us that love can move mountains.. Her mission was over that's why she had to return to Jesus...

yes, I am happy and relieved she is in no more pain now

...... hopefully sabie can encourage everyone to love their children more

How great a love is that and what great FAITH that is.

Thank you, Sarah & James, for sharing Sabie with me. Sabie, through her 18 months of age, has reminded me of God's love and His grace for me. She has reminded me that His love surpasses all understanding and His plans and purposes prevail, though we cannot understand situations and challenges that are thrown our way, FAITH will see us through.
