Saying goodbye is part and parcel of being an Expat in Shanghai

A lovely friend is leaving Shanghai in a few months time. I am going to miss her.

She is such a dynamic person and one of the few I know who seem to be able to effect change whereever she goes. I just don't know where she gets all the energy from and where she manages to find enough hours in the day to do what she does.

She is never afraid to speakup and constantly cracks me up with her jokes. I regret not having spent more time with her as our schedules never seem to jive very much. Nonetheless, we keep in touch via emails and mobile phones.

Someone reminded me that this is part and parcel of living life as an expat. People come, people go and we have to learn how to deal with it. Nonetheless, I'm going to miss you Lynda and Shanghai will definitely never be the same without you. Thank you for founding Shanghaimamas and for being a really good friend.
